DIAZ TO THE DODGERS! Don't let the door SLAM your ASS on the way out!
Dodgers steal Diaz from Mets? NO QUIERO AZUCAR, Y GOOD RIDDANCE! Closer Edwin Díaz has signed a three-year, $69 million contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers, leaving the New York Mets in free agency. The news broke during the 2025 MLB Winter Meetings. Díaz, who opted out of the final two years and $38 million of his previous Mets contract to test the market, accepted the Dodgers' offer, which set a new record for average annual value (AAV) for a relief pitcher at $23 million per year. The Mets had reportedly made an initial of three years for $66 million, but Díaz chose to join the World Series champion Dodgers, who were looking to fortify their bullpen. The move means the "trumpets" entrance song will now be heard in Los Angeles.
